Lew’s Fishing has a new home and just moved into a new 58,000 sq. ft. building in Springfield Missouri.
Lew’s now in it’s fourth and largest location since a change in ownership back in 2009.
Business partners and fishing industry veterans Lynn Reeves and Gary Remensnyder are the leadership behind the legendary Lew’s brand of recent times.
“It’s humbling to be able to design a facility according to specific needs of operation, and we’re fortunate to have been able to do exactly that with our new Do Outdoors home,” said CEO Lynn Reeves. “It’s our pleasure to be able to remain conveniently located in the middle part of the country in a great city like Springfield. We’re confident this spot and facility will allow us to continue our commitment to customer service excellence for years to come.”
Lew’s offices and warehouse occupy nearly 5,400 sq. ft. of the Do Outdoors corporate headquarters located south of Interstate 44 on the northeast side of Springfield, Mo. (Click to view/download hi-res image).
The $3.5 million expansion project officially broke ground on Oct. 31, 2014. Springfield- based Morelock-Rose Builders headed the project.
Still under construction is the official Lew’s Museum where many historic fishing industry firsts from Lew Childre and other tackle pioneers will be on display for public viewing. Completion of the museum is expected before the end of the year, with an official grand opening and public tours to take place at that time.
“A move is never easy, but we’re proud of how quickly and efficiently our team pulled this one together,” said Lew’s President Gary Remensnyder. “While we’ll be settling into our new surroundings for awhile and finishing up the museum, I can proudly say it’s already pretty much business as usual when it comes to shipping and taking care of our customers from 3031 N. Martin Ave. in Springfield.”
Lew’s fishing rods, reels and accessories are sold nationwide through a variety of independent retailers, wholesalers and major national accounts, including Academy Sports, Cabela’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Gander Mountain, Mills Fleet Farm, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Tackle Warehouse and Wal-Mart.
