Spending nearly 150 days a year guiding on world-renowned Lake Guntersville in Alabama has taught Shimano pro staffer Alex Davis a few things about ledge fishing. He’ll share his insight this Wednesday night (April 29) at 8 pm EST (7 pm CST, 5 pm PST) on Shimano’s special Facebook Live fishing school event. Hosted by JP DeRose – with plenty of opportunities for viewers to ask questions and comment – Davis can expect DeRose to prod him into offering up the expertise he’s gained from fishing on Lake Guntersville since 2004.
Known as the ‘Spinnerbait Kid’, Davis’ passion for bass fishing started at the age of eight, and he hasn’t looked back since. Along with his guiding service, Davis also finds time to fish national and area tournaments where he has cashed checks totally nearly $500,000. He joins an expert list of Shimano pro staffers who have talked fishing techniques, tackle, and strategy on Shimano’s Wednesday night ‘Fishing School’ Facebook Live event. The hour-long segments can be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/FishShimanoNorthAmerica/.
“It’s our small way to provide some fishing fun and excitement to the many anglers who can’t get out on the water during the COVID-19 crisis,” said Blaine Anderson, Shimano’s pro staff manager. “And if your state guidelines do allow you to fish, keep it that way by following proper social distancing and guidelines. We want to keep America fishing with #ResponsibleRecreation.”
