Edwin Evers teams up with Healing Heroes in Action for the third year

OPTIMA® Batteries and Edwin Evers have teamed up again for the third annual Healing Heroes in Action program to bring the ultimate fishing experiences to a handful of our nation’s combat-wounded Purple Heart veterans in partnership with the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation.

The OPTIMA Batteries Healing Heroes in Action program was created in 2015 as a way to bring once-in-a-lifetime fishing experiences to our nation’s combat-wounded Purple Heart veterans. Through a partnership with the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation, veterans are paired with Edwin Evers and other professional anglers to fish for the day in an effort to promote physical and emotional healing.

The program raises funds for the foundation by inviting fans to bid for a chance to fish against Edwin, the anglers and their veteran partners. The bidding is hosted on Edwin Evers’ Facebook page, and all money raised goes directly to the foundation. Since its inception two years ago, the Healing Heroes in Action program has fundraised more than $23,000 for the Wounded Warriors in Action Foundation.

The year’s program will be hosted in Minnesota on September 8. Beginning this Friday, August 4, interested fans can bid on Edwin’s Facebook page for the chance to fish with the crew. Bidding runs through Friday, August 11; the winner will be announced on Friday, August 11 at noon CST on Edwin’s Facebook page.
