CA DELTA TEAM WINS JEEP PUNCHING

Ken Cassettari, a the recently retired bay area police officer paired up with certified “delta rat” Mike Birch, to best 91 seasoned teams and win the 4th annual Coors Light Invitational event held last Saturday on the California Delta.

“Although we had a limit good enough to win (24.12 lbs), because of the wind, we did not get the opportunity to run to some of our best water – which we knew was loaded with huge fish”, noted Ken. Mike and I punched our way through some massive “vine mats” with black/blue Yamamoto flappin Hogs, coupled with R2Sea Trash Bomb weights, and Gamakatsu’s Super Heavy Cover Worm hooks on Fins braided line, and literally had to reach into some thick cover to dig some of these big fish out of the vines and into the boat”, he added.

Dedicating this victory to the memory of Ken’s father, and “Jox” his loving career long K-9 partner, Ken and Mike earned the keys to a 2017 Jeep Renegade, courtesy of the Lasher Auto Group of Elk Grove, along with two custom designed Coors Light Invitational trophies.
