Garmin Marine Team Sweeps 2023 Awards Season

The industry continues to recognize Garmin as the most innovative marine electronics manufacturer — a point proven by quite literally winning an award dubbed “Most Innovative Marine Company.”

Last year the Garmin marine team won so many awards that we had to create a virtual trophy case of sorts. Happily, that same problem exists this year — we raked in so many accolades that we needed a new home to talk about all of them. When you continue to set the standard for marine innovation, the marketing deliverables just keep on coming.

Most Innovative Marine Company from Soundings Trade Only

Garmin Marine Team Sweeps 2023 Awards SeasonA leading trade publication for the recreational boating industry, Soundings Trade Only is in the business of evaluating innovation in the marine world — and this year it ranked Garmin at the very top. Companies are evaluated based on new products, technologies, sustainability, manufacturing processes, corporate responsibility and more.

“We’d like to congratulate Garmin and all the award winners for the great strides they took to push innovation forward during the last year,” said Gary Reich, Editor-in-Chief at Soundings Trade Only.  “Innovation is what pushes us forward and makes the boating experience safer, more enjoyable and easier for end customers, which is good for the entire industry.”

National Marine Electronics Association 2023 Manufacturer of the Year

For the ninth year in a row, The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) named Garmin Manufacturer of the Year in the large manufacturer category. It’s the highest honor in the marine electronics industry for excellence in both product service and support in the field.

National Marine Electronics Product of Excellence Awards

In addition to bringing home NMEA’s top honors, Garmin also received five different NMEA Product of Excellence awards in the following categories:

National Boating Industry Safety Award

Just like in 2022, the Sea Tow Foundation recognized Garmin with a National Boating Industry Safety Award in the Gear and Equipment Manufacturer category. A cause near and dear to our hearts, the Sea Tow Foundation grants these awards to those who amplify the importance of safe and responsible boating — a practice we hope is on every seafarer’s mind.

IBEX Innovation Award

The Garmin GPSMAP® 9227 with Garmin BlueNet™ was granted a 2023 Innovation Award in the OEM Electronics category at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), which is managed by the Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and judged by members of Boating Writers International (BWI). This secures the GPSMAP 9227 as the standard for multifunction display, complete with premium design and processing power.
