Trevor and Doug Topken are winners of the First Manasquan Limited Open Bass Tournament hosted by the National Bass Anglers Association, Northeast Military Division. Trevor, the youngest angler to participate in the event, anchored Team Topken and the pair managed to haul in a huge bag of 5 largemouth bass with a total weight of 16. 1 lbs. According to Sean Combs, Director and participant of the NBAA NEMD, “This wasn’t nearly as close as we had hoped for. The Topken’s won this event with over twice the weight of second place! For the first 2 1/2 to 3 hours I was 150 yards from them [Team Topken] and I watched them haul in 3 lb fish at a pretty steady pace.” The Father/Son duo took home a substantial cash prize and, thanks to our sponsors MapperMaps.com and Ranger Boats, the team took home two $50 gift cards for RangerWear.com and a free 1-year subscription to the online mapping service.
Trevor also took home the Big Bass prize with a 4.6 lb largemouth.
2nd place, and bringing home a prize check, went to the team of Steve Vullo and Billy Rockafellow, The two brought 3 Largemouth and 1 smallmouth bass to the scales with a total weight of 6. 14 lb.
Placing 3rd in the event was the team of Jim MacDonald and Dennis Chevenak with 3 Largemouths weighing in at 5. 11 lb, which was enough to bring home two $50 gift certificates from MEGASTRIKE Fishing.
