Potholes Reservoir is set to host the first Pro/Am Bass Tournament in the Northwest, offering a grand prize of $50,000 Phoenix boat to the winner. The tournament, which is open to both professional and amateur anglers, will take place on May 4-5th, 2023 and is sponsored by Phoenix Boats and Limit Out Marine.
$600 pro entry to win a $50,00 Pheonix Boat!
The Potholes Reservoir, located in the heart of Grant County, is known for its thriving bass population and scenic beauty. The tournament is expected to draw anglers from all over the West Coast, who will compete for the top prize and the chance to showcase their skills.
“Potholes is one of the greatest bass fishing locations in the Northwest, and this event is a long time coming for us West Coast anglers,” said Professional Angler, Jake Boomer. “Potholes is a trip to fish. An endless labyrinth of fish holding cover, where you can fish anyway you want… deep, shallow, power or finesse, smallmouth or largies, it doesn’t matter. I also think the weights are going to surprise some folks. 20lbs a day probably won’t be enough.”
The tournament will be structured as a shared weight format where each day a pro is paired with an amateur and their total weight for the day is shared. Angler pairing is by random draw, and each day a new amateur will be paired with their pro. The pro and amateur divisions will have separate payouts. The entry fee for the pro division is $600, while the amateur division is $300. Both divisions will be limited to 120 anglers. Registration is open now, however there is a deadline to sign up, April 21st, 2023.
