Learn About California Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention

Three Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Workshops in Northern California.

The California State Parks’ Division of Boating and Waterways, California Coastal Commission’s Boating Clean & Green Program, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service invite you to participate in our FREE Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Prevention Workshops.

THE PURPOSE AIS pose serious threats to water delivery systems, hydroelectric facilities, agriculture, boating, fishing, and the environment. Recreational activities, including boating and fishing, can spread AIS from infested waters to uninfested waters. Therefore, everyone accessing waters should take simple actions to avoid spreading AISeach time they leave a waterbody.

Participants in these workshops will: Gain an understanding of the impacts AIS have on the economy and environment

Learn to recognize AIS in their region 

Learn how to take action and prevent spreading AIS by inspecting and cleaning equipment and watercraft

Alameda Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2019 (You must register to attend by Friday, April 26) Time: 8:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. Location: Aeolian Yacht Club980 Fernside Blvd, Alameda, CA 94501Parking: Free parking available at the facility. Lunch: Purchase lunch at a nearby restaurant or bring your own lunch.Workshop Partner: Aeolian Yacht Club

Pacific Grove, Monterey Date: May 7th 2019 (You must register to attend by Friday, May 3rd)Time: 8:45 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. Location: Mott Training Center– 837 Asilomar Avenue Pacific Grove, CA 93950 (Madrone Room)Parking: Free parking at the facility. Lunch: Purchase lunch at a nearby restaurant or bring your own lunch.
