10″ UNDERWATER TV FOR YOUR BOAT

Aqua-Vu to showcase boat-mountable HD10i Pro Underwater Camera at 2018 Bassmaster Classic Expo

Given equal opportunities to witness the Grand Canyon for yourself versus squinting at pictures of it online, most folks opt for the real-world, in-the-flesh version. One takes your breath away, while the two-dimensional facsimile might merely generate questions, and perhaps even leave you wanting more.

For anglers curious about life beneath the surface, a similar question often persists:

Which technology tells the most complete story, sonar or live underwater video?

Fortunately, choosing between the two perspectives is no longer an issue: You can now have the best of both underwater views inside the same boat. Credit Aqua-Vu®, the company that invented the underwater fishing camera, with another first—a high-definition underwater video system that can be stationed alongside your sonar unit.

“I mount my Aqua-Vu HD10i Pro in the bow of my bass boat, right beside the other electronics,” says Bassmaster Elite Series Pro, Ott DeFoe. “It’s an invaluable tool for quickly checking to see if those fish you’re marking on sonar are bass, or something else altogether.”

Available in four different underwater camera models, the Aqua-Vu HDi Series includes two units with an economical 7-inch color display (HD7i and HD7i Pro) and two with an expansive 10-inch display (HD10i and HD10i Pro). Standard equipment on all four models is a color HD camera with 75- or 125-feet of heavy-duty cable, a super-bright LCD display, and a power shuttle which also stores extra camera cable.

Boat-mountable underwater camera systems display the underwater world in colorful HD video.

Versatile and super user-friendly, all Aqua-Vu HDi systems can be used in portable applications, powered by a small 12-volt gel cell battery, or mounted and wired to a boat’s 12-volt power system. Many anglers, in fact, use the same Aqua-Vu HDi unit for multiple fishing situations, year-around, including ice fishing, kayaks, and bass / walleye boats—greatly expanding its value. aqua vu undwer water camer 01

Beyond the units’ portable / boat-mountable flexibility, all Aqua-Vu HDi models feature the exclusive XD™ Camera Housing that links to an array of XD Accessories. “This awesome camera design lets me quickly swap between different interchangeable Aqua-Vu XD accessories, and without any tools,” adds DeFoe. “I can use these accessories to view the terrain in many different perspectives.”

“One minute I can attach the XD Trolling Fin and scout for bass along a deep channel edge. Few minutes later, I can slide my XD Pole Cam adaptor onto the same camera housing and use it to poke up under matted vegetation or a row of boat docks. That’s a totally new application for an underwater camera, one that lets me check spots fast, and eliminate the areas without bass, without ever making a cast.”

The XD Camera Housing accepts an array of new underwater viewing accessories.

Other standard Aqua-Vu HDi features include high-intensity, adjustable infrared lighting, IP67-rated waterproof LCD and HDMI video output for connection to an auxiliary monitor or recorder. Some models also offer on-screen depth, water temperature and direction, as well as touch-screen zoom.

Consumers can see the new Aqua-Vu HDi units at the 2018 Bassmaster Classic Expo, March 16-18, 2018. Priced from $599.99 (MSRP), the new Aqua-Vu HDi systems are available now at outdoor retailers nationwide or at www.aquavu.com.

“Truthfully,” says DeFoe, “the Aqua-Vu HD solves mysteries I can’t get answers to any other way.”
