Okuma Fills its Reels with a New Line

Okuma Acquires Soft Steel USA- Maker of Fine Monofilament and Fluorocarbon Line

Introduced in the USA by Long Range fishing Guru Tony Garza in 1992, Soft Steel became a dominating force among the Long Range fishing fleet.  Known for its extreme strength per diameter, low memory and exceptional knot strength, Soft Steel is a perfect addition to the vast range of Long Range products offered by Okuma.

“We are very excited to be working with Tony Garza to expand the Soft Steel lineup,” stated John Bretza, Okuma Product Development Manager.  “With the current lineup of ULTRA mono, INVISIBLE Fluorocarbon and SUPER HT, we have plans to expand into the fresh and saltwater markets all around the country, and make Soft Steel USA the go-to, superior brand for fishermen.

With a proven track record on the top boats in the industry such as The Intrepid, The Excel and The Tribute, and the backing of Okuma, Soft Steel is set to make a record run at giant fish.

Soft Steel USA will be distributed by Okuma Fishing Tackle out of Ontario California.  For more information on Soft Steel USA, please visit www.softsteelusa.com or www.okumafishingusa.com.
