“Future Future” Pro division /Youth Scholarship Event
Youth truly represent the future of our sport, and the FPT is committed to keeping the interests levels of our youth high. To that end, for 2012, we have added a new program to our “Future” Future Pro division, that helps honor and encourage each participating youth while contributing to their futures outside of the fishing industry.
In the late summer of 2012, all youth will have the opportunity to participate in the first annual Take-A-Kid Fishing/Youth Scholarship Event presented by Berkley.
In this event, kids all over northern California will be able to participate in multiple divisions (from shore and from a boat), and youth that have fished at least one FPT event during the 2012 season, will also qualify to participate in a special no-entry fee tournament that will pay out up to $1,000 in scholarship money for their future education! Full details regarding this division are available in the Rules section of the FPT website (www.futureprotour.net)
And there is much more to come!
Opening season fast approaching
As FPT participants have come to expect, the 2012 season will challenge angling skills and feature diverse venues throughout the year beginning with our season openers on March 3rd at Lake McClure (central region), and March 17th at Lake Berryessa (northern region).
Both of these kick-off events will see a large field of competitors, all looking for a quick start to put them on track for a berth in the FPT’s year-end marquee event – the FPT Classic championship, which itself will again be a unique and exciting event.
For those of you who place a high premium on learning, both of these opening events – as well as ALL events the FPT host’s throughout the 2012 season, will feature informative seminars on the evenings prior to each event, featuring some of the best top bass professionals in the western United States.
Professional anglers such as Don Payne, Richard Dobyns, Ish Monroe, Alan Fong, Gary Dobyns, Jeff Huth, Bobby Barrack, Ken Mah and Andy Cuccia to name a few, will be at some of our seminars to help you select the best baits to catch fish on that particular body of water, and give you tips on how to fish effectively in team competition.
So get ready as we prepare for the 10th – and best season ever of Future Pro Tour competition and excitement. We can’t promise that you will catch fish, but we can guarantee that you will meet great people, improve on your bass fishing skills, and have a ton of fun in the process!
Don’t forget to visit us at the 2012 ISE Sportsman’s Expo in January, where several of the west’s top pro anglers and tour sponsors will be at our booth, to meet, greet, and share valuable tips on how to catch fish for the upcoming season.
See you all in 2012!
