Delta Summer Shootout – Best of Both Bites” event comes to Stockton!

What do you do when the “dog days” of summer arrive? Easy! Hook up your boat, load it up with lots of top water offerings such as big frogs, giant buzzbaits, wake baits, and loud Zara spooks, and get ready for an event that will help re-define the meaning of the “dog days” of summer.

What event? …..The “Delta Summer Shootout – Best of Both Bites” event, a regular season two-day event to be held Saturday, August 18th, and Sunday, August 19th on the California delta and launching of Ladds Marina in Stockton.

A “Best of both Bites” format

Think about it…how often do you get the opportunity to fish in a tournament that presents you with the most opportunities to compete for those “BIG BITES” that you know mostly occur during the late evening hours, where YOU KNOW the big monster bass are usually most active, and then – the next day, apply those same top water techniques to the summer morning hours where YOU KNOW the summer top water bite is always at its best!

Well here is your chance as this will be a regular season event that combines both the FPT’s northern region with the central region, providing a challenge like none other, AND providing anglers with a big payout from the large field of anglers participating.

On Saturday, day one, anglers will blast off at 1:00pm with the first weigh-in commencing at 7:00pm. All weights for that day will be calculated, and carried over to the following day where anglers will then blast off at safelight to begin that day’s competition. The 2nd day weigh-in period will start at appx 11:00am, after which we will crown the event’s champions who will be featured in the FPT’s television broadcast of the event two weeks later!

Get your sleep – AND get your grub on!

The format of this event allows you to go to work on Friday, get your rest, and THEN get up the next day and enjoy a relaxing drive to the delta! Even better is that when you arrive to the official registration location, all anglers will be greeted with a delicious FREE BBQ lunch beginning at 11:00am, courtesy of the C&C Marine!

While you enjoy your lunch, you will be able to participate in our annual Angler Expo where we will host seminars featuring some of the best professional anglers – that are true “Delta Rats” and participate in major events on the California delta such as Mike Tuck, Zack Thompson, Charlie Alamassey, and Jeff Huth. Also, many of the FPT’s major sponsors will be at the Expo so you will be able to see and sample, free product and services from those sponsors.

The first 100 teams to sign up will receive anglers will also receive:

  • Free pack of premium Gamakatsu hooks
  • Free Frog hook swap-out with Gamakatsu hooks (one per angler)
  • Free Berkley HAVOC or Chigger Craw bait
