Jack Link’s Major League Fishing announced today that BACAS, a Houston-based interventional pain management group that specializes in treating injuries, has joined the league as the 2014 official physician sponsor.
“BACAS is an incredible organization with some of the most dedicated, caring people I’ve ever met. We can’t begin to express how pleased we are to have formed a partnership with this tremendous and skilled group of people,” said Major League Fishing General Manager Jim Wilburn. “The physicians and specialists at BACAS have a true grasp of the types of injuries our anglers face, and they have designed a rehabilitation program to address these injuries. They truly have the well-being of anglers in mind. We look forward to a long-term relationship with BACAS.”
Major League Fishing, a partnership between Outdoor Channel and 24 of the world’s best anglers, features made-for-television bass fishing events and utilizes the most innovative format in competitive fishing. Major League Fishing recently filmed two events. The first, the General Tire Summit Cup, began airing this month and will continue to be shown throughout the first quarter of 2014 on Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV. The second event, the Shell Rotella Challenge Cup, will air on the network during the second quarter of 2014.
“Major League Fishing presents excellent shows that focus on the intense competition and stress that accompany professional fishing events. We felt that becoming a sponsor of Major League Fishing would be a great way to showcase the effectiveness of BACAS treatments in getting professional anglers out of pain and keeping them in the competition,” said BACAS Senior Vice President Melonie Butler.
Major League Fishing’s made-for-television events utilize a format that allows anglers to weigh all the score-able bass that they catch. The bass are immediately weighed after they are caught then released back into the water. Anglers know where they rank in the standings at all times via real-time leader boards in their boats. The competitors are not allowed to practice before events.
BACAS is a Houston, Texas-based interventional pain management group that offers specialized programs designed for athletes and non-athletes. Among its specialties, the organization offers a program designed for competitive anglers. BACAS believes that the physical demands on the body and the repetitious nature of anglers’ actions eventually generate pain (acute or chronic) and injury. Through the RESET program, BACAS physicians reset tired and overworked bodies without surgery or long-term narcotic pain medications. BACAS experts identify, treat and correct issues that produce pain, limit function or cause weakness from injuries, wear and tear and/or overuse. BACAS treats patients from all over the United States. For more information, visit the web site:http://www.bacasmd.com
